IT Internship Program – Spring/Summer 2026
Overview: American Food & Vending is hiring two (2) IT Interns for the Spring/Summer 2026 term, each supporting a different area of the Information Technology function:
- Software Development Intern
- Network Technical Support Intern
While both roles sit within IT, each internship offers distinct hands‑on experience, technical exposure, and skill development aligned to different career paths. Candidates may be considered for one role based on background, interest, and business need.
Software Development Intern
Summary: We are seeking motivated and talented individuals for our Software Development Internship program. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers to design, develop, and test software solutions. You’ll gain hands‑on experience using modern programming languages and tools, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of software applications under the guidance of senior developers
- Write, test, and debug code to implement new features or resolve issues
- Debug and troubleshoot code to improve functionality and performance
- Contribute to technical documentation and participate in team meetings
Network Technical Support Intern
Summary: The Network Technical Support Intern role provides hands‑on experience supporting network systems and end users within the organization. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates seeking practical exposure to IT infrastructure, technical support, and network operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining network hardware, software, and related systems
- Support end users by diagnosing and resolving connectivity or technical issues, both in person and remotely
- Help install, configure, and upgrade network devices such as routers, switches, and wireless access points
- Document troubleshooting steps, technical procedures, and common solutions
- Collaborate with IT staff to help maintain a secure and reliable network environment
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast‑paced environment
- Basic understanding of software development or networking concepts, depending on role focus
