Summary:
The Network Administrator will assist with monitoring and maintaining the company’s networking infrastructure and systems. This includes network components, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, VPNs and internet circuits. The Network Administrator will provide high-quality support services and network problem resolution to fellow members of the IT team, users, and customers. The ideal candidate is a technology professional with problem solving, customer care experience, and strong verbal and written communication skills. The Network Administrator will be also responsible for configuration of physical and virtual network equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Configure network hardware for HQ and remote sites, including firewalls, switches, modems, Wi-Fi, cell service, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs, and, where needed, client devices
- Monitor network infrastructure for reliability, integrity, and performance and alert management when potential problems are detected
- Monitor remote location VPNs and Internet circuits and troubleshoot them as their role permits.
- Keep documentation of network infrastructure updated
- Coordinate quick resolution of network or internet failures/outages at Remote sites with ISP tech support and/or operations staff as appropriate
- Train IT support personnel and end users in basic network configuration, troubleshooting and repair where appropriate
- Participate in on-call rotation for off-hours network support
- Troubleshoot advanced networking issues
- Assist in building secure network templates for deployment to remote locations
- Manage and monitor DHCP pools and reservations
- Assist in the establishment of internet service for new sites
- Contribute networking knowledge to new product/service design
Qualifications:
- Experience networking technologies, implementation, and best practices
- Customer service, multitasking skills, learning flexibility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in troubleshooting network and ISP issues
- Experience/Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and WiFi solutions
- Experience with network monitoring and management protocols and tools at all levels of an enterprise
