Summary: A Pastry Chef at American Dining Creations is a creative and technically skilled culinary professional responsible for producing high-quality baked goods and desserts that elevate the dining experience. This role requires a blend of artistic flair, precision, and operational excellence to meet the expectations of our clients and guests.
Responsibilities:
- Execute a rotating selection of pastries, desserts, and baked goods for café service, catering events, and special occasions. Menus should reflect seasonal ingredients, current trends, and client preferences.
- Prepare items such as cakes, tarts, cookies, bread, and plated desserts with consistent quality and visual appeal. Ensure all items meet portion, taste, and presentation standards.
- Manage ingredient inventory, minimize waste, and maintain cost-effective production. Utilize online purchasing systems and adhere to budgetary guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry station. Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including temperature logs and allergen protocols.
- Work closely with chefs, catering managers, and service staff to coordinate production schedules and event needs. May assist in training junior staff or bakers.
- Provide superior customer service during events and tastings. Represent the culinary team in client-facing situations with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Support corporate initiatives, seasonal promotions, and new account openings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Formal culinary training with a focus on pastry arts preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a pastry chef or baker role
- Strong oral and written communication skills for client presentations and team coordination
- Proficiency in basic math and inventory systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and passionate about baking
