Summary:

A Sustainability Intern will support the implementation, evaluation, and promotion of sustainability initiatives within our dining operations. Corroborating with team members to innovate and improve environmental practices, engage your campus and local community and acts as an ambassador for the company's values and mission.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track food waste and recycling efforts in dining facilities (as applicable).
  • Engage with students and staff to promote sustainability initiatives and events.
  • Provide Feedback to cafe management regarding sustainable dining initiatives and best practices.
  • Contribute to social media or internal communications about sustainability projects.
  • On a quarterly basis prepare and share observations, recommendations and best practices for improving sustainable initiatives across the university campus.
  • Plan and execute at least one major sustainability campaign or project within the campus or local community. Act as the ambassador for American Dining Creations sustainability values and mission.
  • May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
  • A passion for identifying and implementing sustainable dining solutions.
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written to successfully promote and engage students, staff and the community.
  • Availability to work up to 10 hours per week in the cafe or kitchen environment.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Understanding and basic level of social media skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
